Todowing

Todoist flattens sub-tasks in Today, Upcoming, Filter, and Label views, so a sub-task shows up as a lone row with no context. Todowing is a Chrome extension that nests each sub-task under its parent in those views, up to four levels deep, and in Boards too. Each sub-task row shows its own due date, priority, and labels, and you can complete or reopen sub-tasks without opening the parent task.

The free version includes the nesting, up to 5 sub-task rows per top-level task, seven color palettes that also change row spacing and corner rounding, and a text size slider from 85% to 200%. No account is required.

The $19.99 one-time lifetime unlock removes the row limit and adds sub-task add, rename, and drag-reorder, a toggle to hide done sub-tasks, filing a task under a parent in another project, focus sessions with a countdown card across tabs, time estimates, a notes pad above Today, a font picker with about 50 Google Fonts, and read-only Apple Calendar events on Today. It covers future paid upgrades. There is no subscription, and refunds are available within 14 days.

Todowing is for Todoist users who work in the Todoist web app in Chrome. A Todoist Pro plan is not required. Your Todoist API token stays in your browser and goes only to the official Todoist API. Tasks do not pass through Todowing servers, and the extension has no analytics or tracking.
